Description
Vittina turrita is one of, if not the most popular algae-eating snails in the aquarium hobby. These industrious cleaners are the perfect snail package; hardy, long-lived, and unable to breed in freshwater (so 2 snails don't turn into 200!). Plus, with a clean, zebra-like pattern of light and dark brown stripes, they're not too bad on the eyes either. Overall, if you're looking for something to take care of algae, especially in tanks too small for most algae-eating fish, these guys are likely your best bet.
