Description

Neolamprologus multifasciatus, often shortened to "Multis", are very small shell dwelling cichlids from lake Tanganyika in Africa. Making their homes in abandoned snail shells these are the smallest known species of cichlid in the world! Their diminutive size means a decent colony can be kept in a 10 or 20 gallon aquarium and they can be bred quite easily provided there are enough snail shells. Adults tend to ignore babies so it is quite satisfying to observe multiple generations growing up at once!

These are specimens around 1-1.5" long.
