Description

Mogurnda mogurnda is an uncommon species of goby from Australia and Papua New Guinea. Reaching up to around 6", it is larger than most freshwater gudgeons commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Hardy and resilient, it tolerates a wide variety of environments and water parameters. While they are territorial and may nip the fins of slow/long-finned tankmates, it otherwise fits well into larger community aquaria. Caves and other hiding spaces are appreciated; while it sounds counter-intuitive, this species will likely be more outgoing in a dense tank with many available hiding spots. Like all gobies, they are accomplished jumpers and should be kept in tanks with well-fitting lids.

These are juvenile specimens, around 1-1.5" long.
