Description
Macrognathus circumcinctus, aka the Zebra spiny eel, is a small spiny eel that does not exceed 8" in length. This manageable and hardy species is perfect for fans of species such as Fire Eels that do not have the space for tank-busting monster fishes. Like all spiny eels they are burrowers that enjoy soft, sandy substrates. They are peaceful with fishes too small to fit in their mouths.
These are subadults around 5-7" long.
