Description
Geophagus surinamensis is a larger species of Geophagus that originates in Suriname, and is also known as the Red-Striped Eartheater. These fish have metallic green-ish bodies and red and blue accents. Like all Geos they are most comfortable in groups, and are relatively peaceful for a cichlid of their size. Soft sand is recommended to allow these Eartheaters to live up to their name, sifting food out of the substrate. These are aproximately 2.5-3" long juveniles.
