Description
Polypterus ansorgii is a large species of 'underbite'-type bichir. Reaching about 30", these are one of the rarer species of bichir, owing to their small natural range and the infrequency of African fish exports as of late. They have an intriguing checkerboard-like pattern and dorsally protruding eyeballs. Quite the find for the monster fishkeeper!
