Description
Chromobotia macracanthus is one of the most popular loaches; this fish is not for a small aquarium. while slow growing, they can attain sizes in excess of 30cm! Clown loaches are also voracious eaters of snails and are often used to eliminate snail problems. Their striking yellow and black striped pattern definitely puts them as one of the most colourful loaches known.
These are a group of large, trade-in clown loaches we recieved from a customer who has cherished them for some time. The eldest is around 8" long and 7 years old! Don't worry; clown loaches can live beyond 20 years, so they still have lots of life (and growing!) ahead of them. Their colour is deep and rich, and certainly represents the high quality of care that they had received with their previous owner. There are two size grades; the smaller 3 are around 4" long, and are nearly red in the body instead of yellow-orange, while two of the larger are about 6", and the largest is around 8".
