Description
Limia is the genus to which most livebearers from the Caribbean islands belong; there is some debate as to whether or not Limia is synonymous with Poecilia, but either way Limia is still at least valid as a subgenus, so we will continue to refer to these fish as such to avoid confusion. Limia tridens is a colourful species from Haiti; both sexes are gray with dark bars and blue iridescence overtop. Males develop brighter colours and a bold yellow to orange dorsal fin. Their care and disposition is about identical to more common livebearers such as guppies or platies. They prefer warm, hard water.
These are locally-bred specimens ranging from about 1-2".
