Seachem MultiTest - Phosphate - 75+ Tests

Seachem MultiTest - Phosphate is a professional grade water testing kit designed for use in delicate saltwater and high pH freshwater aquariums. The kit will accurately test the water and measure pH and alkalinity levels to ensure a healthy, stable aquatic environment. In natural seawater, phosphate levels can range from less than 0.01 mg/L to 0.3 mg/L. For the more delicate environments, such as corals in reef aquaria, these phosphate levels should be around 0.2 mg/L or less. Despite phosphates being non-toxic to fish and most invertebrates, they are ideally kept below 1 mg/L to minimize unsightly algae growth.

In freshwater aquariums, phosphates are not critical and the allowable concentration is dependent on many variables such as nitrate, manganese, iron, and vitamin concentrations, as well as the number of healthy live plants. Seachem MultiTest - Phosphate measures inorganic phosphate levels to less than 0.05 mg/L, and for the added benefit of aquarists, produces a unique and easy to read yellow-green-blue color range in both freshwater and saltwater environments. Most often, the freshwater phosphate concentrations will be beyond the range of this specific kit and dilutions of the sample with distilled water will be required for proper, accurate readings.

Included with the kit is an opaque multi-cavity test plate with six individual cavities that allow aquarists to test and compare several samples at the same time. Additionally, the simple, easy to read color chart features a 5-centimeter viewing window that makes identifying the specific reading of the test hassle free. The phosphate levels can be precisely measured in a range between 0 and 3.0 mg/L and will show detectable changes in the color chart at 0.001 - 0.1 mg/L increments. As well, though it is not needed to use this kit, Seachem MultiTest includes a reference sample to allow aquarists to verify if there results are as accurate as they should be. Comes with 75 tests.
