Description: The correct scientific name is Nepenthes (talangensis x maxima) x hamata. The female parent is a selected clone of N. talangensis x maxima with the cultivar name ‘Lady Pauline’ and Collection ID# 0373 formerly sold under BE-3298. It was first launched at the Chelsea Flower Show and there are many photos of ‘Lady Pauline’ available on the web. The male parent is a selected clone of the Gng. Tambusisi form of N. hamata, with Collection ID# 0973.
As the photos show, the plants we have seen have lovely two-tone yellow/orange peristomes when juvenile, that darken to near black as they mature. Everything about this cross works extremely well. It’s relatively easy to grow and a prolific producer of pitchers, as can be seen from the last photo of juvenile plants in a 15cm (6in) pot.
The photos shown here are representative, being from the same grex of seed, and will be similar, but perhaps not identical to plants shipped.
