Description
Laubuka, also known as hatchet danios, are mid-sized danios with deep bodies and long fins. The most famous is L. dadiburjori, the dwarf hatchet danio. These are a larger, Sri Lankan species; our closest match for and ID is L. lankensis or L. insularis. Based of colour pattern we are tentaively IDing them as L. lankensis, although they have a distinct purple sheen instead of blue.
These are specimens around 2" long, starting to display orange flank markings and a purple sheen on a silver body.
