Description
Sphaerichthys vaillanti, also known as Vaillant’s Chocolate Gourami or simply Vaillanti gourami, is the most colourful species of chocolate gourami. Males resemble other species of chocolate gourami, but females have blue/green and red barring, especially when displaying. In an interesting role reversal, females are the aggressive, dominant sex and males mouthbrood the eggs. These gouramis enjoy soft, acidic water and dimmer lighting.
These are adult specimens, about 1-1.5" long. Both males and females are available.
