Description

Neolamprologus similis is one of the smallest cichlids known! Reaching around 1.5-2" max, these tiny shell-dwellers actually live and breed in snail shells. Their somewhat small size and fairly aggressive disposition mean they are generally best kept in a single species aquarium. However, the intriguing and complicated behaviors of a colony makes it all worth it! These industrious fishes will arrange the shells and substrate in their tank to their own liking; no need to aquascape. Altogether these are one of the most unique cichlids indeed.
