Description

Microglanis iheringi is a small, reclusive catfish from South America. It does not get much larger than 3.5", but its large mouth means particularly small tankmates such as neon tetras or white cloud minnows may become snacks. Bumblebee cats hide for most of the day but can be observed at night with a red flashlight, or can be seen at feeding time, darting out to grab sinking pellet foods or frozen fare. They are an incredibly hardy and long-lived species; the author has personally has a specimen live to be 9 years old!

These are juveniles around 1-1.5" long.
