This sought-after variety of Staurogyne from western Brazil only became available in Europe/North America a few years ago. Similar to the ever-popular S. repens, 'Porto Velho' has longer, narrower leaves underwater, and a purplish stem when grown emersed. Just like S. repens, it is an attractive creeping foreground plant that grows rapidly when ideal conditions are met.
