Description
Yasuhikotakia lecontei, also known as the Silver Loach, is a mid-sized botiid that reaches around 6" in length. Closely related to the more common redfin loach (Y. modesta), this species looks quite similar but has yellow finnage instead of red. Anecdotally, this species is less aggressive than most other Yasuhikotakia loaches. The contrast between the pearlescent, dark blue body and bright yellow fins is quite unique.
These are young adult individuals, around 4" long.
