Description
Sold to us as Channalabes apus, this is actually more likely to be Gymnallabes typus. These oddball catfish hail from West Africa and make good additions to medium- to large-sized community aquaria. Reaching only around 10" long, this is a much more manageable species than the related Marbled Walking Catfish. Take care, as these wide-mouthed fishes are able to eat smaller tankmates such as many tetras; otherwise, though, they are completely peaceful.
These are adults around 6-8" long.
