Description
African reed frogs and banana frogs are part of a vast group of small to medium-sized frogs that range throughout sub-Saharan Africa, within subfamily Hyperoliinae. The genera most commonly seen in the pet trade are Afrixalus (banana frogs) and Hyperolius (African reed frogs), while the Madagascar genus Heterixalus are less common. These frogs inhabit warm rainforest habitats, and are cared for similarly to red-eyed tree frogs, though specificity for each species may vary.
Our current selection includes the brown banana frog, Afrixalus dorsalis, and an indeterminate, golden species.
