Description
Hyphessobrycon anisitsi is a mid-sized tetra from Argentina that reaches about 2". While these fish have a reputation as fin-nippers, this behaviour is only pronounced when they are kept in insufficient numbers or cramped quarters. A large school of 5-8 or more is recommended for this active species. With their metallic greenish bodies, red fins, and high activity levels, these fish will glint and shimmer as they race across the tank. They also make an ideal dither fish for larger cichlids. These are the selectively bred albino morph.
