Description

Anolis ferreus, commonly known as the Morne Constant anole or Marie-Galante anole, is a species of lizard native to the island of Marie-Galante, part of Guadeloupe in the Caribbean Lesser Antilles.

Male Morne Constant anoles can grow up to 4.7 inches (11.9 cm) in snout-to-vent length, while females are smaller, reaching only 2.6 inches (6.5 cm). This species is characterized by its yellow-green dorsal surface and blue-gray head with yellow around the eyes. Males also feature prominent tail crests.

These anoles are primarily active in the middle of the day and tend to retreat to high perches by late afternoon.
