Description
Marcusenius sp. is a weird species of African fish from the family Mormyridae, the same family as the popular Elephantnose. While lacking the trademark "nose" of the latter, these are otherwise a similar fish. Just like elephantnose, they are fiercly intelligent and communicate with each other via an electrical "language". Proportionately, their brains are almost as big as ours! While not much to look at, baby whales are adored by aquarists for their intelligence and interesting behaviour. As they are territorial, we recommend keeping either a large group or just one. These are really a fish like no other!
This is an adult around 5-6" long.
