Description
Hypancistrus sp. L471 is one of the single smallest pleco species available. While the common Sailfin Plecos can exceed 18" in length, and most popular aquarium plecoes still reach about 6-10", the Bigspot Snowball pleco only reaches about 3-4" total length. This small adult size makes it suitable for smaller aquaria in which most other plecos will not be feasible. However, it should not be bought as a "cleaner" fish, as these are mostly carnivorous plecos that love meaty foods such as sinking carnivore pellets or frozen bloodworms. Blanched veggies or algae wafers may still appreciated now and then, though. These tiny plecos make a great addition to community tanks, South American biotopes, or even a dedicated tank all to themselves!
This is a batch of subadults, around 2.5" long with very large and pronounced white spots.
