Black Obsidian is a glassy luster rock that is formed from volcanic glass. This is present where lava enters the water, as well as around the edges of a volcanic dome or lava flow. This stone color is a completely solid black with few scratch mark dings from being mined.
Because of light-reflecting inclusions within the stone, obsidian may have a metallic sheen. Based on the color and sheen of this stone it has variations of rainbow obsidian, golden obsidian, and silver obsidian.
