Description
Brachygobius doriae is the "classic" bumblebee goby. It is definitely a brackish fish, and while they can survive in freshwater for a time, their lifespans are generally greatly reduced and they are often more susceptible to disease. They are somewhat territorial with each other but almost never to the point of physical harm. A well structured aquarium with plenty of hiding places to claim will let you see all the interesting natural social interactions that this species has. Bumblebee gobies are very peaceful with other species and your only concern for tankmates should be that you don't keep them with anything big enough to eat them, as this species hardly reaches an inch and a half.
