Description
Lepidobatrachus laevis is a weird and wonderful frog from South America. Some other names for this popular frog include Freddy Krueger frog, Wednesday frog, and hippo frog. With heads that make up almost half of their overall size, small eyes on top of their heads, and comically shorty limbs for such a large body, there are few creatures that even remotely resemble these. Budgett's frogs are a mostly aquatic species, and only require a small land area to crawl out to if necessary. They prefer water that is shallow enough that they can stand on the bottom and still poke their eyes above the surface. We recommend keeping them without any gravel/substrate in the water, as swallowing gravel can harm/kill these frogs.
