Description

Danio margaritatus, (formerly Celestichthys margaritatus), commonly known as the Celestial Pearl danio, CPD, or (incorrectly) as the Galaxy rasbora. This diminutive danio hails from high-elevation lakes and streams in Myanmar. CPDs prefer cooler temperatures than most other tropical fish, owing to the altitude of its native range. Their bold pattern of orange fins on a navy blue body, spangled with pearlescent spots, is unrivaled by any fish of their size. They are not true schoolers, instead shoaling loosely throughout the tank. Males also display very interesting sparring behaviour, but rarely damage each other. There's a reason these tiny stunners are one of the most popular nano fish!

Adults around 0.75" long.
