Description
Here's something you don't see every day; this is a batch of captive-bred Danio margaritatus (Celestial Pearl Danio) x Danio erythromicron (Emerald Dwarf Danio) hybrids! These are a naturally-occurring hybrid, with one or two often showing in up in large batches of wild caught celestial pearl danios. Their parent species are very closely related, so they may be a fertile hybrid; at this point in time it is not known for sure. They seem to possess hybrid vigor, being larger than either parent species; these specimens are an inch long already, which is huge for a CPD. They are also incredibly active, their behaviour being more akin to zebra danios than a CPD, when people are around anyway.
These are adults, around 1" long. They are starting to colour up but will benefit from a less busy area in the home and some good feeding. A dark substrate also helps bring out their best colour.
