Description
Panaqolus maccus is a small pleco reaching about 4-5". They have an attractive yellow- to orange-striped pattern on a chocolate brown body. These are xylivores (wood-eaters) so at least one piece of driftwood must be kept with these catfish to ensure they are fed, or an appropriate gel food for plecos may be used as a substitute. As such, they are not to be relied upon as "algae-eaters" for cleaning the aquarium.
These are juveniles around 2" long.
