Description
Corydoras nanus is a rare and beautiful species of the C. elegans group, from Peru. Like most cories in their lineage, they are blackish with silvery spotting overtop. Not very visible in pictures, however, is the bronze and green iridescence that shines over their whole body, especially near the face. They are a smaller cory, not quite reaching 2" in length. Like all cories, they are peaceful bottom-dwellers that should be kept in groups of at least three, with 6 or more being preferable. The elegans group is known for spending more time free swimming in the water coloumn than most other cories; however, from our experience with this species, they act more like a typical cory, largely staying grounded on the substrate.
These are adults, at around 1.75" long.
