Description
Trichopsis vittata is a smaller species of gourami known for being one of the only fish to make noise. Using special structures in the musculature of their pectoral fins, both sexes generate sound to attract mates and to resolve conflicts. These gouramis are small and shy, so are best kept with other such fish, such as smaller tetras and rasboras.
