Description
Brevibora dorsiocellata, sometimes also known as the Hi-Spot, Eyespot, or Green-Eyed Rasbora. These are a small and peaceful schooling fish, reaching just shy of 1.5". While they are not so colourful, their reflective green to blue eyes (reminiscent of the Norman's Lampeye Killi, Aplocheilichthys normani, from Africa) make them a subtle but stunning display fish. The dark spot on the dorsal, from which their other common names come, also adds a certain chic. Their small size, subdued personality, and low activity level make them perfect tankmates for shy fishes such as Betta sp, various small gouramis, dwarf cichlids, etc.
These are subadults, around 0.75" long. Their metallic eye colour is just starting to develop.
