Description
While this species, Petitella georgiae, may resemble the more common Hemigrammus bleheri quite closely, it represents a distinct species of rummynose tetra. These fish can told apart from other rummynose by their more greenish body colour (as opposed to flat grey) and yellow in the tail (as opposed to white). Otherwise they are largely identical in care and attitude to the other species of rummynose; peaceful, active schoolers that tolerate high temperatures well. Their high activity level means they can bring lots of movement and life to a community aquaria, and their red noses especially pop against the green backdrop of a heavily planted tank.
These are juveniles around 1" long.
