Description

Pseudetroplus maculatus is a brackish water cichlid endemic to South India and Sri Lanka. They live in  lagoons/estuaries feeding off on zooplankton and algae. They readily accept dry and frozen fish food in captivity.  They can be kept in freshwater tanks provided with high pH to compensate for the lack of salt content.  They are not aggressive and can be kept in a community tank.  Care should still be taken as they are still a cichlid and will prey on smaller fish.

current stock size: 0.5-1" juveniles (no orange colouration as of yet)
