Description
Thorichthys meeki is a mid-sized cichlid from central america that reaches about 5" in length. These cichlids are fairly peaceful for their size and actually fare best when kept in a school (5-6 individuals or more would be best). They make the perfect community cichlid as only the smallest of fish will be preyed upon. Both sexes of this gorgeous species develop metallic blue spotting and red bellies/throats with maturity, although it is most intense on males.
These individuals are juveniles, about 2.5” long.
