Description
Flowerhorn cichlids are a man-made, line bred hybrid cichlid with many species of American cichlid in its ancestry. These are a large fish that get around a foot in length. Flowerhorns are known for the enlarged nuchal humps that adult males develop, called a "kok", which can exceed half of the mass of the fish's body. They are aggressive, with many being completely intolerant of any tankmates. However, certain individuals can still be maintained with other robust fish such as large catfish or Polypterus species; other cichlids are still best avoided. These are young individuals around 3.5" in length.
