Description
Timon lepidus is a beautifully colored lacertid that inhabits Spain, Portugal, and Southern France, the males especially striking in their coat of emerald and turquoise scales. These curious, tamable lizards grow to around 16-20 inches and are easy to maintain. Basking temperature is around 32 C/90-95 F, with a humidity average of 60% on the cooler end of the enclosure. They are avid insectivores, but will indulge in rotten fruit found in orchards and forests in the wild; captive specimens may or may not be open to trying fruit as well. Be sure to include a 10.0 UVB light for proper calcium metabolism.
