Description
Pethia conchonius is an very hardy and colourful barb from South Asia. These living gems are highly reflective, with a rosy red base colour, giving way to gold and even green along the top of the head. Pair that with bold black accents on the fins, and you have one of the most eye-catching freshwater fish! They are more peaceful than many other barbs, but like all barbs they should be kept in groups (4-6 or more is ideal). This not only helps prevent any aggression toward tankmates, but also makes your barbs more outgoing and encourages good health and colouration.
These are subadults of the longfin form, around 1.25-1.5" long.
