Description
Discoplax magna is a large, fully freshwater to brackish land crab from Indonesia. They are quite intelligent for a crab and can be tamed down with effort. Like most crabs they will eat just about anything; vegetables, fish/shrimp and fish foods are likely the best staples. A large dish of mildly brackish water and high humidity are necessary to maintain gill health, and deep substrate, ideally a sand/soil mix, is necessary for moulting. House alone.
These are very large individuals, around 3.5-4" wide in the body and in excess of a foot from legtip to legtip!
