Description: Imagine N x ‘alisputrana’ but with N. edwardsiana mixed in! This hybrid compounds three of the most iconic species from Sabah and has the potential to be extremely large and spectacular in every way – perhaps even record-breaking. All three parent species grow in close proximity on Mr Kinabalu in Sabah, so it’s practically certain this hybrid will have existed naturally at some time in the past.
This might well be the most exciting cross we have ever created. At the time of writing (Dec 2020), we are seeing extreme variability in both form and colouration, as the photos show. Some clones have strong traits of N. edwardsiana, and others more resemble N. rajah or N. burbidgeae. We have never seen more variability in any of our creations, as no two clones we have selected to grow out are appearing to be the same. Some are even turning out to be very hirsute, as shown in one of the photos. Since this is a random selection from a literally hundreds of different clones out of microprop, we haven’t grown them all out and there will probably be some surprises in store.
The photos shown here are representative and may not be identical to any of the plants shipped.
