Oryzias latipes is also known as the Japanese ricefish. They are adaptable to a very broad range of water conditions from brackish water to acidic streams. They are also very easy to breed; curiously, females carry the eggs around stuck to their anal fin before finding a suitable place to deposit them, usually among fine-leaved vegetation. These fish prefer cooler conditions and can be maintained without a heater.
This is a batch of extra large adults of the 'Youkihi' morph, characterized by soft peachy oranges and blues on a cream-coloured base colour.
