Otocinclus spp. are small suckermouthed catfish in the same famiy as the popular Plecos. Otos are renowned for their appetite for algae; they are especially good at cleaning the leaves on aquarium plants and other places that larger cleaning fish can’t get at. As schooling fish, Otos need to be kept in groups to feel comfortable. We recommend at least 3-4 indviduals although a school of 6-8 or more is much better. Many very similar species are traded as common Oto Cats; this is most likely O. affinis.
These are young adults around 1" long.
