Description
Gasteropelecus sternicla is the most common species of hatchetfish in the aquarium trade. Like all hatchetfish, they are peaceful schoolers that spend the vast majority of their time 'glued' to the surface of the water. Also like all hatchetfish, they are prodigious jumpers that should never be kept without a full lid. Reaching around 2" long, a 30 gallon aquarium should do for these delightful oddballs.
