Description
Trichogaster lalius is a popular species of smaller gourami. These are some of the most popular gouramis out there for community aquaria, owing to their small size (about 2" maximum) and (usually) peaceful disposition. Males can be quite territorial, so it is recommended that you either keep only one male, or a large group to diffuse aggression. While the females are more drab in comparison, they still have a nice pale golden body colour, and can generally be kept with the males with no issues.
Many selectively-bred colour morphs are available of this species; this is the Powder Blue or Cobalt Blue morph, which is solid light blue in both sexes. These specimens are around 2" long.
