Description
Stiphodon ornatus, also known as the Ornate Stiphodon, is one of the more beautifully coloured species of Stiphodon. Males are capable of rapid and dramatic colour changes, switching from their black and blue display colours to their ruddy striped resting pattern in a matter of seconds. Like all members of the genus, these gobies are herbivore that like grazing on algae.
These are young adults around 2" long.
