Description
Caridina longirostris is a phenomenal algae-eating shrimp from Southeast Asia. Paradoxically, it is known as both the "Short-Nosed Algae Shrimp" and the "Long-Nosed Algae Shrimp", although the latter is better reserved for the Pinocchio shrimp, C. gracilirostris. Two advantages it presents over Amano Shrimp are that it can breed in freshwater, and is somewhat more tolerant of soft or acidic water than Amanos are. Definitely a cleanup crew member worth trying!
These are young specimens around 0.5-0.75" long.
