Description

Lucanus placidus is a distinct species of stag beetle that can be found in sandy substrates around the Great Lakes region of Canada. Eggs are deposited around tree roots where the larvae will develop. Average larval development time is around 9 months. Adult beetles can be fed fruit such as banana and jelly designed for beetle consumption.
