Description
Trichopodus pectoralis is one of the larger species of gourami commonly seen in stores. They start out more drab in colour, mostly browns and grays, but adults can develop more intense greens and reds under the right conditions, especially when kept over a dark substrate. While their large size means tankmates small enough to eat are out of the question, they are normally fairly peaceable with larger fishes such as rainbowfish, larger tetras and danios, etc.
This is an adult specimen, traded in around 6" long (not counting tail). It is likely a male but we can't guarantee any specific sex.
