Description

Anostomus ternetzi is a mid- to large-sized characin from northern South America. Reaching 4-6" long, they are a good fit in mid- to large-sized community aquaria. Like many similar characins, they will likely eat plants so a plantless aquarium is best. While they can be maintained in large groups, they have a tendency to squabble; single specimens work better, most of the time. With their striped bodies and orange lips, they bring a certain chic to larger aquaria. Overall an interesting one-off for your aquarium!

These are juveniles ranging around 2" in length.
