Description
THESE FISH HAVE NO RELATION TO ACTUAL SNAKEHEADS OF THE GENUS CHANNA.
THEY ARE LARGE GOBIES FROM SOUTHEAST ASIA.
Giuris viator is a large (up to 11") euryhaline sleeper goby from the coasts of the Indian Ocean. While they can venture into salty waters to breed, they live most of their life in freshwater. They appreciate warm, alkaline water and meaty foods. Despite their somewhat fearsome appearance, they are quite mellow and enjoy each other's company.
